About the Role
We are seeking a Senior UI Engineer to build and shape the firm’s internal UI platform. This role involves contributing to UI infrastructure that powers over 100 business applications, requiring a blend of front-end specialization, platform thinking, UX sensibility, and product mindset in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the UI platform and act as a technical partner to product owners.
- Evolve the technical stack and development tools through architectural improvements, shared components, and implementation consistency.
- Collaborate with product teams and business stakeholders to define features and build high-impact UI solutions.
- Span full-stack development, including web front-end, backend integration, API design, performance optimization, and system observability.
- Contribute to code quality and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Identify gaps in development lifecycles.
- Continuously improve the core platform and developer experience.
- Lead the technical lifecycle of complex UI applications, from architecture and technology selection through implementation, deployment, scalability, and production reliability.
- Incorporate AI capabilities into user features or development workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in UI engineering.
- At least 2 years in a role leading or designing front-end architectures.
- Advanced React/TypeScript expertise with proven ability to architect large-scale, performant component systems, drive front-end technical standards, and mentor teams on modern React patterns.
- Strong background in UI/UX design collaboration, translating business requirements into user stories and journeys.
- Experience partnering closely with product management across the full product development lifecycle.
- Comprehensive, hands-on experience using AI throughout the development lifecycle (e.g., Codex, Claude, Copilot) for problem-solving, building agents, and evolving SDLC practices.
- Strong familiarity with common enterprise JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Redux, Zustand, RxJS).
- Hands-on experience with advanced data grid and charting tools integrated with real-time or high-volume datasets.
- Proficiency in writing unit tests and E2E tests utilizing popular frameworks (e.g., RTL, Mocha, Jest, Cypress, Playwright).
- Experience building internal tools for trading, analytics, or compliance in Finance or Fintech businesses.
- Experience with AWS cloud services (EC2), Kubernetes-driven deployments, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience designing and operating high-throughput, event-driven data pipelines on Apache Kafka or Apache Spark.
- Experience implementing or maintaining design systems.
- Familiarity with React-based micro-frontend architectures and patterns.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Go, Python, Java, Rust.
- Advocate for best practices, challenge outdated patterns, and elevate standards through critique.
- Excellent communication skills to partner with business stakeholders and translate concepts into technical plans, wireframes, or prototypes.
