In this role, you will provide strategic legal counsel to product, engineering, and business teams building and scaling Meta's monetization and user-controls surfaces. You will work at the intersection of privacy, consumer protection, and emerging AI regulation, helping to identify and mitigate legal risk across global jurisdictions as Meta's monetization ecosystem evolves.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive legal counsel to product, engineering, and monetization business teams on AI-powered advertising products, user controls, and related revenue-generating surfaces.
  • Analyze new and evolving monetization features and AI capabilities to identify legal risks across data protection, consumer protection, intellectual property, and competition law frameworks in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Develop and apply legal frameworks for novel monetization use cases, including generative AI in advertising and related user controls.
  • Partner with privacy, regulatory, commercial, and litigation legal teams to coordinate cross-functional legal strategy on monetization and AI product initiatives.
  • Collaborate with public policy, communications, and partnerships teams to align on multi-disciplinary legal and regulatory issues affecting Meta's advertising and AI monetization products.
  • Support compliance initiatives related to global AI regulations, advertising standards, and data protection laws as they apply to monetization products.
  • Contribute to organizational legal strategy by identifying emerging legal risks in the AI monetization landscape and proposing scalable risk mitigation approaches.
  • Engage with and influence cross-functional stakeholders across product, operations, and business teams to drive legally sound product decisions at scale.
  • Develop and maintain legal guidance, frameworks, and documentation to support consistent and efficient counseling across monetization and AI product teams.

Requirements

  • Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location).
  • 5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience.
  • Experience advising on legal issues related to digital advertising, AI-driven products, or technology platforms across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience working independently and cross-functionally to manage and deliver complex legal projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience applying data protection, consumer protection, or competition law frameworks to technology products or services.
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible AI practices, including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and compliance with emerging AI regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize legal workflows and drive measurable efficiency or quality improvements.
  • Experience advising on legal and regulatory frameworks specific to AI-generated content, and user controls related to ads.
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews).
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements).
