  • Maintain current knowledge of market developments, industry trends, and counterparty-specific risks across sectors such as private credit, hedge funds, pensions, insurance, asset management, and broker dealers to support informed credit decisions.
  • Collaborate with business partners, senior risk professionals, and control groups to support transaction structuring, portfolio monitoring, and risk-based decision-making that aligns with business objectives and CIBC’s risk appetite.

Requirements

  • You understand the key risk drivers and business models across financial institutions and institutional counterparties, including hedge funds, pensions, insurance companies, asset managers, and broker dealers.
  • You can clearly present credit views and recommendations, influence stakeholders, and build strong working relationships across Risk, front office, and control partners.
  • You apply sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to assess risk, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions.
  • You work well in team environments, contribute to collective outcomes, and provide guidance and support to peers and junior team members where appropriate.
  • You bring your real self to work and live our values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
  • You need to be legally eligible to work at the location(s) specified above and, where applicable, must have a valid work or study permit.
