About the Role

We are seeking a Quantitative Research Analyst to lead ERA's credit coverage from New York. You will work closely with traders and portfolio managers, identifying problems as they emerge, with the time to research and solve them properly. Your work will inform execution across GIC's fixed income mandates globally. At VP level, you will set direction, identify valuable problems, transform ambiguous business questions into tractable research, manage stakeholder relationships, and steer ERA's credit research agenda within a cross-asset team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead GIC's credit execution research agenda, setting a multi-phase roadmap spanning market impact and liquidity modeling, counterparty and platform selection, portfolio trading, protocol choice, and transaction cost analysis (TCA).
  • Translate the roadmap into prioritized research with clear measures of success.
  • Apply advanced quantitative methods to high-granularity trade and quote data to answer questions that have no existing solution, ensuring robust outcomes through a disciplined research process.
  • Act as ERA's point of contact for Credit, serving as the primary stakeholder lead for traders and portfolio managers with credit execution questions.
  • Guide the credit research roadmap for the proprietary execution analytics platform, proposing new models, metrics, and datasets, and collaborating with developers for deployment.
  • Represent ERA's credit research externally, maintaining a view across peer institutions, dealers, trading platforms, vendors, and academic literature.
  • Strengthen research quality across the wider team by reviewing code and methodology, contributing to research discussions, and making credit insight transferable to other markets.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in a quantitative research or markets role covering credit or broader fixed income, including experience taking research from problem formulation to application.
  • Knowledge of credit market structure, including dealer intermediation, balance sheet constraints, RFQ and all-to-all protocols, portfolio trading, ETF-driven liquidity, and credit liquidity behavior under stress.
  • Familiarity with the credit data landscape (TRACE, consolidated tapes, evaluated pricing, dealer inventory indications, quote data) and its limitations.
  • Experience of fixed income transaction cost analysis (TCA).
  • A practical understanding of where ML/AI add value in execution research and decision support, and where simpler, more interpretable methods are better.
  • The ability to scope ill-defined problems into deliverable research.
  • The ability to allocate scarce research effort to the highest-value opportunities.
  • The ability to explain complex analysis precisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
