About the Role
The Personal Support Worker is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of the Director of Care and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs. Work is one on one.
Responsibilities
- AM care
- Escort client to dining room and assist with feeding
- Light Housekeeping
- Accompany clients on outings; client uses walker and wheelchair
- Medication Reminders
- Ambulation and transporting of client
- Provide companionship to client
- Communicate with client's family that visits regularly, accompany on outings
- Ability to follow a care plan
- Documentation/Charting
Requirements
- Personal Support Worker Certificate.
- Current CPR/First Aid training.
- Vulnerable Sector Screen or be willing to obtain one.
- Ability to lift/move client as client mobility is declining.
- Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray.
- Access to the internet/mobile phone.
- Great support and teamwork.
