About the Role

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate services for call control, BXML processing, webhooks, and real-time media.
Contribute to APIs and SDKs used by developers to build voice applications.
Work cross-functionally to ship features such as conferencing, TTS/IVR, call recording, and transcription.
Troubleshoot and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of high-volume, low-latency voice infrastructure.
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and on-call rotations.
Write tests and documentation to a high standard.
Use AI tools effectively across the development lifecycle, ensuring AI-generated code meets security, style, and compliance standards.

Requirements

2–4 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with distributed systems or APIs operating at scale.
Proficiency in Java or a comparable statically typed language.
Comfort working with REST APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous/event-driven systems.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar) and SQL/relational data stores.
Solid debugging and analytical skills to trace issues through multi-service, real-time systems.
Clear communicator able to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Eagerness to learn telecom/real-time media concepts (SIP, WebRTC, media streaming).
