About the Role
onX is seeking a Web Software Engineer III to build and scale web experiences for hunters, supporting the goal of delivering a best-in-class Hunt experience. This role involves owning technical solutions, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and contributing to an environment that encourages learning and skill development.
Responsibilities
- Build, support, and evolve web products for hunters using TypeScript, Vue, GraphQL (Apollo Client), and Mapbox.
- Own technical solutions from ideation through delivery, including decisions on architecture, performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Partner with Product, Design, QA, and engineers to deliver cohesive, high-quality customer experiences and navigate cross-team dependencies.
- Run and instrument A/B tests and feature rollouts using Split, Eppo, and Amplitude for data-informed decisions.
- Raise the quality bar through design reviews, mentorship, and frontend best practices.
- Monitor production health and participate in triaging and resolving incidents affecting web experiences.
- Write unit and end-to-end tests using Jest, Vitest, Cypress, and/or Playwright.
- Integrate AI as a repeatable co-pilot in daily workflows through experimentation and continuous refinement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Four (4) or more years of professional software development experience, with at least two (2) years focused on web client development.
- Strong foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and browser fundamentals.
- Experience with modern web frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular.
- Experience working with REST APIs and/or Apollo Client with GraphQL.
- Experience writing unit tests with Jest or Vitest.
- A strong sense of ownership and a get stuff done attitude.
- Willingness to collaborate, provide and receive mentorship, and advocate for the customer experience.
- Strong curiosity for exploring new technologies, including AI.

- Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment.
- Ability to travel on occasion for multiple days to a corporate office or strategic location.
