About the Role
Lead the engineering design delivery of major Transmission HV Substation new build and extension projects, integrating multiple engineering disciplines and ensuring design compliance with CDM 2015 Regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering design delivery for HV Substation projects.
- Manage design requirements at tender and early contractor engagement stages.
- Allocate resources for tender, FEED, and detailed design stages.
- Integrate multiple engineering disciplines (HV Plant, Protection and Control, Civils).
- Act as Principal Design Representative, ensuring design information management and CDM 2015 compliance.
- Participate in Business Unit and Group Design Management process improvement.
- Review design pack submissions for technical compliance, quality, and completeness.
- Develop and assist with the design and engineering aspects of programmes.
- Monitor and expedite key engineering programme issues, including procurement.
- Liaise with Temporary Works Coordinators and Designers regarding constructability.
- Understand and influence consultant contracts, including fees, services, programme, and liabilities.
- Review and comment on consultant payment applications.
Requirements
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary design packages on HV Power Projects.
- Experience carrying out the role of Principal Designer Representative under CDM 2015.
- Membership of a UK Engineering institute.
