About the Role
Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) is seeking motivated Mattress Assemblers to join their team at the Greene, NY manufacturing plant. This role is crucial in the mattress production process, involving the assembly of high-quality products with precision and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble mattresses according to established work instructions using pneumatic tools, c-ring/hog-ring guns, staple guns, and hot glue guns.
- Perform assembly of Hot Melt Bond (HMB) units using the HMB machine.
- Apply specified upholstered layers to HMB units, open coil units, and foam-encased pocketed coil units.
- Complete foam encasing and final mattress assembly processes while maintaining quality and production standards.
- Inspect mattress components and finished products for structural defects, damage, or other unacceptable flaws.
Requirements
- Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations.
- Must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8-hour shift or longer in overtime situations.
- Heavy loads must be team-lifted.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow work instructions and production tickets.
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions.
- Must communicate with coworkers and management clearly and respectfully.
- Must work in an ever-changing, fast-paced team environment.
- Employees are required to comply with COVID policies established by a vendor or customer.
