About the Role
Premier Health Partners, P.C. & Grider Support Services LLC, partners of Erie County Medical Center (ECMC), seek a patient-focused Patient Services Representative (Receptionist) to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a smooth patient experience as the first point of contact.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients, verify demographics, check insurance eligibility, and process payments.
- Answer and direct phone calls, addressing patient inquiries and redirecting urgent matters.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
- Verify patient insurance information and process authorizations.
- Assist with patient registration and data entry.
- Maintain accurate patient records in EMR and paper files.
- Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in staff development and meetings.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, vendors, and healthcare team members.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- 1-2 years’ experience with front desk operations, patient scheduling, phone handling, and customer service, strongly preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other medical office software
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures
- Strong customer service skills to provide a positive experience for patients and their families
