About the Role

We are looking for a Head of Food who knows what makes exceptional cat food and will decide where our product goes next. You will be our go-to expert on feline nutrition, formulation, palatability, and sensory science, owning the product development strategy end-to-end. This role involves setting the long-term vision, shaping the product range, and creating a roadmap to bring it to life.

Responsibilities

Keep cats eating and customers staying by reducing reasons for pausing and owning palatability performance.
Set the direction and make calls on product development strategy, range evolution, and trade-offs.
Own the product development budget for trials, testing, and research.
Act as the leading expert on feline nutrition, ingredients, formulation, processing, palatability, and sensory science.
Sign off product quality and claims, and work with Brand and Marketing to highlight food strengths.

Requirements

Obsessed with outcomes, judged by cat food enjoyment and customer retention.
Deep expertise in feline nutrition, ingredients, formulation, processing, sensory, and palatability.
Strong product judgment, balancing nutrition, palatability, quality, customer expectations, manufacturing, and cost.
Ability to shape product strategy and lead cross-functional work with influence.
Hands-on approach with food, including tasting and evaluating product.
Scientifically curious, with the ability to translate evidence into practical change.
Willingness to challenge the status quo and coach others.
Comfortable with ambiguity, moving quickly, and taking ownership in a startup environment.
Ability to commute to West London.
