About the Role

Lumi Care supports children and adolescents in participating in school life and becoming increasingly independent. We are urgently seeking a reliable and attentive school companion for a primary school student who approaches her with patience, understanding, and appreciation.

Responsibilities

Accompany the primary school student individually in everyday school life, providing security and orientation.
Support concentration, task structuring, and planning of individual steps.
Provide clear assistance in completing school tasks and promote independent work.
Encourage participation in group activities and support orientation during joint lessons.
Consider individual motor skills and support the needs-based implementation of school activities.
Strengthen social skills and support the development of positive relationships with classmates.
Provide targeted impulses to promote socio-emotional development and self-confidence.
Consider individual health requirements and adhere to agreed-upon school routines and emergency procedures.
Collaborate closely with teachers, legal guardians, and the responsible coordinator at Lumi Care.

Requirements

An empathetic, patient, and appreciative attitude towards children.
A good understanding of the individual needs of children with special support requirements.
The ability to provide orientation, convey clear structures, and guide tasks understandably.
Calmness, attentiveness, and reliability in everyday school life.
A good sense of when support is needed and when independent action can be encouraged.
Understanding of different developmental paths and individual learning paces.
Enjoyment in promoting social contacts and participation in the class community.
Willingness to familiarize yourself with individual health requirements and school routines.
Reliability and willingness to collaborate and reflect.
Experience in school support, pedagogical work, or supporting children with special needs is particularly welcome.
Open to career changers with relevant experience and the appropriate personal suitability.
Ideally, experience with children with epilepsy or other special support needs, or willingness to learn about individual requirements.
Remain calm, attentive, and capable of acting even in unforeseen situations and be willing to be trained in individual emergency procedures.
Meet children empathetically, patiently, and appreciatively.
Ability to create clear structures and support children with concentration, orientation, and action planning.
Understanding of different motor and cognitive developmental prerequisites.
Support children empathetically in building social contacts and developing socio-emotional skills.
Work reliably with teachers, legal guardians, and our coordination.
Be available during the agreed school hours for 7 hours per week in Berlin-Neukölln and be able to start as soon as possible.
