About the Role
Oversee and lead import and export activities for the service/aftermarket/accessories business for Billy Goat at the Munnsville facility, driving compliance and partnering with external vendors.
Responsibilities
- Manage importation/exportation administration for regional inventory replenishment and international distributor sales.
- Partner with outside manufacturers to establish strategy and objectives for staff, ensuring high customer service and cost-efficient operations.
- Manage distributor and supplier relationships, ensuring product delivery within agreed lead-times, specifications, and quality.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers and internal customers on continuous improvement to optimize shipments, scheduling, and order processing for cost reduction and service improvements.
- Provide a high-level interface between suppliers and internal customers to resolve functional, supply, or commercial issues.
- Develop, implement, and maintain manuals and written procedures for import and export compliance activities.
- Provide technical support on import/export compliance issues.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of export administration regulations, customs regulations, harmonized tariff schedule, and company products.
- Serve as the contact for the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Customs, overseeing freight forwarder and broker processes.
- Interact with the legal team for regulatory issues and provide training for compliance initiatives.
- Perform managerial responsibilities including planning, assigning work, interviewing, hiring, coaching, and assisting with performance management.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in International Business or related field OR equivalent education and experience.
- At least five years of import and export experience.
- Knowledge of purchasing, negotiation techniques, quality, and supplier relationship development.
- Familiarity with global customs and oversee freight requirements.
- ERP and/or WMS software experience, SAP preferred.
- Proficiency in email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse groups.
- High-level understanding of high volume, continuous process manufacturing.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location.
