About the Role

DSV is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Warehouse Material Handler / Loader to support specialized warehouse operations involving the careful handling, staging, loading, and unloading of data center server racks and related equipment requiring white-glove care and precision. This position requires a heightened level of attention to detail, specialized handling procedures, and a strong commitment to protecting shipment integrity. You'll work closely with warehouse team members, drivers, and Team Leads to ensure equipment is properly inspected, positioned, secured, and prepared for transportation. Responsibilities also include operating material-handling equipment and a company box truck to transport equipment between warehouse facilities and designated storage areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized white-glove handling, staging, loading, and unloading of data center server racks and related equipment using approved handling procedures.
  • Load and unload trailers, box trucks, and other transportation vehicles, ensuring proper equipment positioning, weight distribution, and compliance with loading plans.
  • Operate electric pallet jacks (EPJs), manual pallet jacks, forklifts, and other approved material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized, following established operating procedures, equipment inspections, and safety requirements.
  • Follow established manual handling and team lifting procedures, including assessing load weight, size, stability, and handling requirements; using appropriate mechanical assistance; and coordinating with team members when materials cannot be safely handled by one individual.
  • Safely operate a company box truck to transport equipment between warehouse facilities and designated storage areas, conduct required pre-trip inspections, report vehicle defects or safety concerns, and comply with applicable traffic laws, company policies, and vehicle safety requirements.
  • Conduct visual inspections of equipment, crates, pallets, packaging, and protective materials to identify damage, missing components, unstable packaging, or other discrepancies.
  • Verify shipment identification, quantities, labels, and documentation, and complete required photographs, inspection records, loading checklists, and shipment documentation.
  • Apply approved straps, restraints, blocking, bracing, and protective materials to ensure proper load securement and prevent equipment movement, tipping, or damage during transportation.
  • Follow customer-specific white-glove handling standards, chain-of-custody requirements, site access procedures, and shipment security protocols.
  • Coordinate with warehouse team members, drivers, and Team Leads to meet loading schedules, shipment priorities, and operational requirements.
  • Communicate shipment status, loading completion, discrepancies, delays, equipment damage, and safety concerns to the appropriate team members and supervisors.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, including clear loading lanes, accessible emergency exits, and properly stored equipment.
  • Follow all DSV safety policies, required personal protective equipment (PPE) standards, and approved handling procedures. Stop work and notify a supervisor when unsafe conditions or potential equipment-damage risks are identified.
  • Complete required inspections and loading verifications before releasing shipments for departure.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse and transportation operations.

  • Previous warehouse, loading, unloading, material-handling, or freight-handling experience preferred.
  • Experience with white-glove logistics, specialized freight handling, data center server racks, electronics, or other equipment requiring additional care and precision preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate a company box truck in accordance with applicable licensing, safety, and company requirements.
  • Ability to operate approved material-handling equipment following appropriate training and authorization.
  • Ability to safely perform material-handling activities, including individual lifting of up to 75 pounds, team lifting, and operation of electric pallet jacks, in accordance with company safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, verbal instructions, safety requirements, and customer-specific handling guidelines.
  • Ability to complete basic shipment documentation, inspection checklists, and related records accurately.

Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail when inspecting, handling, securing, and documenting equipment requiring white-glove care.
  • Ability to recognize unsafe conditions, unstable equipment, and potential shipment-integrity concerns.
  • Knowledge of safe lifting techniques, team lifting procedures, and appropriate use of mechanical handling equipment.
  • Effective verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with warehouse team members, drivers, supervisors, and Team Leads.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to follow loading schedules and operational priorities.
