About the Role
We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join the Healthcare Data Products team. This role involves building scalable pipelines and platforms that transform raw clinical data into actionable insights, empowering clients to do the same. The work directly impacts how cancer data is utilized across the industry.
Responsibilities
- Own the lifecycle of high-scale data applications, building robust, compliant, and performant systems.
- Architect and scale complex data pipelines using Python, PySpark, Prefect, and Airflow to ingest data from hundreds of sources into Snowflake.
- Transition data delivery models toward modern Snowflake-native data sharing and high-performance Parquet extractions.
- Support EHR application and data export features by working across the stack, from Python backends to React frontends.
- Modernize tooling using Terraform, Docker, and GitLab CI/CD for code-driven infrastructure.
- Leverage Datadog and Metaplane for end-to-end system and data observability.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and Claude Code to streamline workflows.
- Collaborate with oncologists, product leaders, and data scientists to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience building scalable, production-grade software.
- Highly proficient in Python.
- Deep understanding of relational databases (Snowflake preferred).
- A nose for value and empathy for internal and external customers.
- Proactively identify problems with high business impact.
- Ability to explain complex data flows to non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentorship of junior engineers on best practices.
