About the Role

This role is for someone who can drive go-to-market success and build a repeatable commercial motion as Axle grows. You’ll help customers adopt our technology, commercialise flexibility across their customer base, and expand usage over time. You’ll be expected to move quickly, remove friction, and adapt processes pragmatically rather than getting stuck in bureaucracy. We’re looking for someone with strong commercial instincts, a sharp GTM mindset, and the ability to operate comfortably in technical conversations.

Responsibilities

  • Winning new business
  • Developing and managing our growing sales pipeline
  • Go-to-market strategy and execution
  • Client onboarding and ongoing commercial relationship management
  • Defining sales at Axle, as we establish our go-to-market approach.
  • Owning new customer acquisition end-to-end, from first conversation through to commercial close, setting our partners up to generate meaningful revenue
  • Driving go-to-market execution with partners, including value propositions, pricing considerations, customer segmentation, and launch strategies
  • Acting as a commercial bridge between partners and internal teams, translating market and customer insights into clear product, pricing, and GTM inputs
  • Building and refine scalable sales and partner processes that support repeatable growth across different customer segments
  • Tracking performance, pipeline, and outcomes, using data to prioritise effort and continuously improve commercial effectiveness

Requirements

  • Strong commercial instincts
  • Sharp GTM mindset
  • Ability to operate comfortably in technical conversations
  • Ability to make an immediate contribution to our rapidly increasing revenue growth
  • Bonus points if you can acquire new customers in multiple languages
  • In your first 90 days: you’ll know our product and markets, have built your own pipeline of EV charging, battery and heat-pump partners, and closed your first deal
  • By 6 months: several new partners signed and launched, generating revenue on our platform
  • By 12 months: you own a customer segment end to end, and you’re ready to take on a new market or proposition

Location

  • Farringdon (office)

Work Type

  • Hybrid working
  • Full-time

Salary/Compensations

  • £75k–£200k (base salary + equity)

Benefits

  • A meaningful slice of equity in Axle
  • Competitive salary
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Bi-annual retreats
  • Dog-friendly office
  • The opportunity to directly shape the future of energy markets and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon world

About the Company

  • At Axle Energy, we’re building the infrastructure that will underpin the decarbonised energy system. Our software moves energy usage to times when electricity is cheap and green, by controlling vehicle charging, heating systems, and home batteries. We control hundreds of thousands of energy assets.
  • We’re building in a legacy industry and moving gigawatt-hours of electrons in the real world, but we operate at lightning speed, and we’re growing the team to meet customer demand.
  • We’re proud to be supported by world-leading investors, including Energize Capital and Accel.
  • We operate with a deliberately flat structure and aim to keep pay equitable across the company, with a 1:1 median ratio between founder and team compensation.

Equal Opportunity

  • We are extremely keen to build a diverse company, and we’re particularly eager to hear from candidates who don't fit the traditional role stereotypes. If you’re motivated by our mission, please do reach out, even if you feel you might not ‘check all the boxes’.
