About the Role

As Senior Product Manager, Global Tax, you will own the tax half of the engine for the Tax & Year-End area. You will lead the product side in a cross-functional team of engineers, design, and tax domain experts to build a multi-country tax module, natively integrated with the common ledger underlying Shine and able to run on top of other systems. Germany is the initial focus, with France and Spain to follow.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Global Tax strategy and roadmap, sequencing annual business tax returns across all core markets by customer value and regulatory deadlines.
  • Build a unified tax engine, defining shared components (data model, tax mapping, rules framework, review workflow) and local components (forms, calculations, validations) for scalability.
  • Own electronic filing end-to-end, including transmission, certification via ELSTER/ERiC (Germany) and equivalent channels (France, Spain), submission status, error handling, and tax assessment verification.
  • Serve both tax advisors/CPAs with a comprehensive workflow and business owners with a simplified DIY experience for Shine Micro.
  • Integrate AI as a core capability for pre-filled returns, automated classification, plausibility checks, and clear explanations.
  • Conduct deep discovery with tax advisors to understand workflow inefficiencies and translate findings into a prioritized backlog.
  • Ensure product compliance through a reliable process for annual form changes, new legislation, and authority interface updates.
  • Orchestrate collaboration with Global Year-End, Core Accounting, Advisor, common ledger teams, and local product teams in France, Germany, and Spain.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a product manager building complex B2B SaaS, ideally in tax, accounting, ERP, or other regulated domains.
  • Proven track record of taking products from discovery to adoption.
  • Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, charts of accounts, and the transformation of ledgers into financial statements.
  • Ability to think in platforms, separating shared components from local specifics for scalability.
  • Technical fluency to discuss data models, rules engines, APIs, and government interfaces with engineers.
  • AI fluency, with experience using AI in workflows and critical thinking about AI's role in tax work.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, designing for correctness, auditability, and trust.
  • Clear communication skills with engineers, tax advisors, and leadership.
  • English fluency; German language skills are a significant advantage.
