About the Role

This role is crucial for the successful planning and trading of our ranges, requiring a commercial mindset and a strategic approach. You will be responsible for supporting the Merchandise Manager in all aspects of trading, stock control, and price management for the retail operation.

Responsibilities

Support the Merchandise Manager in all aspects of trading, stock control, and price management for the retail operation.
Manage and produce weekly market trading reports to summarise, analyse, and identify key sales drivers by collection and category, proposing necessary trading actions.
Assist the Merchandise Manager in identifying KGL lines for promotion, repeats, and risk assessment.
Support in updating Weekly Stock Sales and Intake forecasts (WSSI).
Liaise regularly with the branch merchandising team to control inventory levels, allocations, and replenishment.
Liaise with the warehouse team to assist with stock transfers and price changes.
Review key Core lines forward sales forecasts by market to ensure stock availability.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with the buying team through regular meetings and communication.
Cost markdown proposals for end-of-season sales and ensure markdowns are on the system in line with the markdown calendar.
Produce colour, price, sizing, and ad hoc analysis on the range regularly, working to tight deadlines.
Provide historical analysis to develop Seasonal Planning Forecasts for all KGL Collections.
Ensure a high degree of accuracy is maintained across all areas of responsibility.
Plan and budget for each dropship site, conducting thorough analysis of performance by category, price, style, and colour, considering promotions and trend information.
Ensure an optimal selection of product on each site, working to option targets and using historical sales analysis.
Manage the product selection on each site, reacting to trading patterns and iterating as necessary.
Manage the promotional calendar on each site, communicating with dropship partner teams and the ecom team.
Understand the sales performance on each site in detail (e.g., at category, colour, style level).
Actively trade the sites, being aware of each site's promotional calendar and leveraging it.
Work on promotions specifically for the Carvela brand with partner sites.
Conduct sales analysis to identify trends and inform trading decisions.
Understand and manage any logistical processes for each site.
Build a close working relationship with the ecom dropship team and dropship partner teams.

Requirements

Proven Junior Merchandiser or significant experience at the Assistant Merchandiser level within a premium retail environment.
Commercial mind-set and a strategic approach are vital.
Passionate about Merchandising in a fashion environment.
Experience of managing and trading premium brands in an off-price environment.
Enjoys working with numbers and a strong team player.
Pride in building great relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
Ability to adapt communication style successfully.
Efficient, analytical, and an optimiser, always aiming to exceed targets.
Adaptable to a fast-paced business where no two days are the same.
