About the Role
The Senior eCommerce Content Strategist will own content strategy and execution across Amazon and the wider commerce ecosystem for Luzern's enterprise brand clients. This role focuses on Amazon content (listings, A+/Premium A+ Content, Brand Store) while maintaining a platform-agnostic outlook to extend strategy and content guidance to other marketplaces, retailer sites, and D2C platforms. The strategy is audit-led, using customer and platform signals, competitor analysis, and audience requirements to inform content needs, with a key focus on discoverability by generative AI assistants and in-platform shopping agents.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer reviews, search terms, AI-generated summaries, and customer/AI agent queries to understand content needs and identify shortcomings.
- Benchmark current platform content against a quality framework and Best-in-Class competitors.
- Translate audit findings into a prioritized view of content requirements.
- Develop and own content strategy and execution for Amazon listings, A+/Premium A+ Content, and Brand Store.
- Extend strategy and content recommendations to other marketplaces, retailer sites, and D2C storefronts.
- Define communication objectives, key messages, and messaging hierarchy for clients.
- Specify content requirements, imagery, and copy needed to execute the strategy.
- Develop A+ and Brand Store wireframes and mock-ups in collaboration with designers.
- Build content strategies that account for discovery by generative AI assistants and in-platform shopping agents.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on AI/agentic discoverability and translate emerging trends into practical recommendations.
- Partner with the SEO Executive to align keyword strategy and content structure for traditional and AI-mediated discovery.
- Recommend and conduct A/B tests on content elements to determine effectiveness.
- Set up monitoring to measure content performance and implementation.
- Track and report on content performance against strategy objectives.
- Develop the strategy and messaging for paid social, display, and marketplace advertising content.
- Write and own creative briefs for designers producing static and video ad assets.
- Review creative output against briefs, brand guidelines, and platform requirements.
- Present content strategy, recommendations, and audit findings directly to client stakeholders.
- Prepare estimates and scopes of work for content workstreams.
- Shape and write content and creative briefs in response to client requirements.
- Manage client feedback through to resolution.
- Contribute to and prepare proposals and pitch content for new and existing clients.
- Review the work of SEO Executives and Designers before client delivery.
- Provide feedback and direction to ensure output consistency and on-strategy execution.
- Utilize AI tools proficiently for audits, recommendations, and content acceleration.
- Identify and recommend AI tool applications to improve content production and audit efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Amazon content strategy and execution (listings, A+/Premium A+ Content, Brand Store, Amazon Posts), ideally within an agency or managed services environment.
- Working knowledge of content requirements across at least one other marketplace or major retailer platform (e.g., Tesco, Zalando, Otto) and D2C.
- Experience running content audits, analyzing reviews, search terms, AI-generated summaries, and customer/AI-agent queries.
- Experience scoring content quality (e.g., IDQ or equivalent) against Best-in-Class standards.
- Experience translating audit findings into content strategy: comms objectives, key messaging, messaging hierarchy, and content requirements for imagery and copy.
- Experience developing or briefing A+ and Brand Store wireframes and mock-ups, working closely with designers.
- Experience designing and running A/B tests to determine the most effective executional approach.
- Experience setting up performance monitoring (e.g., Amazon Compass or equivalent) to track results.
- Strong understanding of how AI assistants and platform shopping agents (e.g., ChatGPT, Rufus) surface and rank product content.
- Confident, credible client-facing communicator, comfortable presenting strategy, leading feedback conversations, and owning estimates and proposals.
- Experience briefing creative teams for paid social/display advertising, across both static and video formats.
- Demonstrable, hands-on use of AI tools for research, auditing, and content production.
- Strong copywriting and content editing skills, with a close eye for brand and platform compliance.
- Comfortable reviewing and giving constructive feedback on the work of SEO and design peers.
- Experience across multiple international marketplaces or retail media platforms (Desirable).
- Familiarity with SEO fundamentals (Desirable).
- Experience contributing to new business pitches or proposals (Desirable).
- Category experience relevant to Luzern's enterprise brand client base (Desirable).
