About the Role
KAYAK's Search Data & Quality team ensures travel results are accurate, complete, and trustworthy. As a Commercial Operations Specialist, you will own a dedicated area of accuracy operations, including monitoring, issue investigation, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration for problem resolution and process documentation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate recurring monitoring processes to track accuracy across hotel search results, identifying issues proactively.
- Investigate accuracy issues (e.g., price discrepancies, availability mismatches, linking errors), categorize root causes, and coordinate with internal teams for resolution.
- Define and document clear escalation paths to ensure timely engagement of the right teams and tracking of recurring issues to a fix.
- Build and maintain documentation to ensure coverage and backup.
- Monitor key performance indicators to identify risks and opportunities, and propose practical solutions.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Performance Marketing, and Commercial colleagues, translating findings into clear, actionable requests.
- Contribute to broader data quality initiatives as the role evolves.
- Share knowledge with teammates and support team learning on accuracy operations, tools, and processes.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in operations, analytics, or a related role, with demonstrated impact on product or business outcomes.
- Equivalent experience, training, or transferable skills are considered.
- A methodical, investigative approach to problem-solving, comfortable digging into data to find root causes and propose solutions.
- Comfort working with data (e.g., using SQL or a comparable tool) and the ability to turn findings into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Experience contributing to multiple projects simultaneously and making informed decisions about priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare concise documentation and present findings to colleagues and leadership.
- A collaborative approach and enjoyment of building working relationships across engineering, commercial, and marketing teams.
- Attention to detail and a genuine care for data accuracy and quality.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take ownership of your work.
