About the Role
DMG New Media is seeking freelance Videographers for project-based work across their social brands, shooting social-first video for editorial and commercial projects, and managing shoots from preparation to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Shoot social-first editorial and commercial content across DMG brands.
- Manage assigned shoots from preparation to delivery, including shot lists, lighting, audio, and file handover.
- Collaborate with producers and creatives to understand briefs, timings, and shoot requirements.
- Capture strong coverage with an understanding of editing needs.
- Adapt quickly on set and solve problems efficiently.
- Work confidently with presenters, contributors, and production teams.
- Understand hooks, opening beats, and visual storytelling for social audiences.
- Adapt shooting styles for different brands, formats, and platforms.
- Contribute ideas informed by video culture, audience behavior, and creator trends.
- Handle camera, sound, and lighting equipment with technical proficiency.
- Adhere to production workflows, including file management, releases, and permissions.
- Communicate clearly with the production team before, during, and after shoots.
- Provide ideas and feedback to improve shoots, formats, and production processes.
Requirements
- Strong showreel demonstrating social-first videography.
- Proficient shooting on Sony FX3, FX6, A7S III, or similar camera setups.
- Strong understanding of lighting for various environments.
- Ability to capture clean dialogue and location sound.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with fast-turnaround editorial and commercial briefs.
- Keeps up-to-date with platform trends, production techniques, and creative tools.
- Experience as a freelance videographer across social and digital content.
- Experience as a videographer with social, digital, TV, or documentary experience.
- Experience as a shooter across fast-turnaround news, entertainment, sport, lifestyle, or culture.
- Experience as a content creator with strong technical production skills and social content understanding.
