About the Role
This role focuses on developing and enhancing incident response capabilities through dashboards, alerts, and logging improvements. It also involves performance benchmarking, security configuration reviews, infrastructure cost optimization, and supporting product development teams with IAM needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop dashboards to aid incident response capabilities.
- Develop alerts based on SLOs for quick issue response.
- Review logging setup to simplify product flow understanding for engineers.
- Benchmark cloud disk performance and understand filesystem tradeoffs.
- Review security group and network configurations for least privilege.
- Build features in the development codebase.
- Update application code for logging, metrics, tracing, and authentication.
- Review infrastructure costs and identify savings.
- Write public-facing Terraform and Cloudformation for AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Support product development teams with their IAM needs.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as an engineer in a cloud environment.
- Proven, hands-on experience with infrastructure as code in production environments (Terraform, Terragrunt, Cloudformation, CDK, ARM-BICEP etc.).
- Some programming experience (Golang or Java preferred).
- Scripting/programming skills with Python/Bash/Csh.
- Deep knowledge of snapshotting, volumes, and encryption on public clouds.
- Deep knowledge of filesystems.
- Hands-on experience with multiple cloud vendors, including cross-account IAM and identity federation schemes.
- Familiarity with deploying serverless functions with multiple Cloud Vendors.
