About the Role

We are looking for you as a sub-project manager for Hardware Digital (Platform) and Device (m/f/d) at the Berlin location (hybrid).

Responsibilities

  • You will lead a small team in terms of content and control work packages, results, deadlines, and progress.
  • You will develop and evaluate architectural concepts (e.g., FPGA, SoC, ADC/DAC, JESD204B) and combine them into a viable system design.
  • You will develop the overall concept together with the technical project manager and the architects and build up deep system knowledge, ideally including basic RF measurements.
  • You will be responsible for the multi-board architecture and the interfaces between hardware and software, as well as the connection of the RF frontend to the digital part.
  • You will coordinate the collaboration of hardware, firmware, and software and prepare well-founded architectural decisions.
  • You will be responsible for device integration and verification and coordinate milestones with the involved teams and sub-project management production.
  • You will create and maintain product descriptions, test procedures, and data sheets and control the device-related quality gates.
  • You will evaluate effort, feasibility, and risks and inform the technical project manager and, in case of deviations in schedule or budget or escalations, the overall project management.

Requirements

  • You have a degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, or a comparable qualification, as well as several years of professional experience.
  • You have experience in multi-board and platform architectures as well as knowledge of high-speed analog/digital frontends up to approx. 50 Gbit/s.
  • You understand the architecture of FPGAs, SoCs, ADCs/DACs, and interfaces such as JESD204B and can evaluate system designs.
  • FPGA, ARM, and power management knowledge enable you to technically control firmware and interfaces.
  • You are familiar with interface documentation (ICD), device integration, verification, and quality gates.
  • You enjoy taking responsibility, developing digital architectures even with open requirements, and analytically evaluating feasibility, effort, and risks.
  • Very good spoken and written German is required for effective communication in the project environment as well as with our German-speaking customers.
