Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across all international entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany balances, and financial schedules for compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and Axon policies.
  • Lead balance sheet and P&L variance analysis and present findings to leadership.
  • Oversee cash, intercompany, foreign currency translation, and remeasurement processes for international entities.
  • Act as the technical accounting lead for international entities, researching and documenting positions on non-routine transactions.
  • Apply IFRS and US GAAP, with in-depth IFRS expertise and knowledge of US GAAP, particularly revenue recognition and leases.
  • Identify, quantify, and communicate differences between local GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP, ensuring reconciliation.
  • Monitor new accounting standards and assess their impact on international entities.
  • Set and own the plan for statutory reporting, local audits, and filings across international entities.
  • Manage outsourced statutory preparers regarding scope, timelines, and financial statement quality.
  • Act as lead contact for local statutory auditors and filings, and collaborate with global auditors.
  • Agree audit plans and PBC lists, manage queries, and resolve or escalate audit issues.
  • Defend Axon's accounting positions with auditors and agree adjustments where warranted.
  • Ensure local statutory filing deadlines are met, coordinating with tax and legal teams.
  • Lead accounting aspects of entity set-ups, expansion, acquisitions, and system implementations.
  • Develop cross-functional relationships to support PMO activities for legal entity expansion.
  • Support internal controls over financial reporting for international processes, including control design, evidence, and deficiency remediation.
  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and process documentation for international entities.
  • Identify, design, and deliver process improvements and automation, including AI-enabled approaches.
  • Improve the use of Microsoft D365, OneStream, and Blackline across international entities.
  • Partner with corporate accounting, tax, treasury, revenue, FP&A, and internal audit to ensure international requirements are met.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior accounting team members without formal line management responsibility.
  • Handle special projects and ad-hoc requests as assigned.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent (Big 4 training preferred).
  • 10+ years of post-qualified experience.

  • In-depth technical knowledge of IFRS and good working knowledge of US GAAP, including revenue and leases.
  • Ability to research and conclude on complex or non-routine transactions.
  • Proven ownership of the close across multiple international entities in a multi-currency environment.
  • Experience with statutory reporting and audits across more than one jurisdiction.
