About the Role

The Area Execution Manager (AEM) is a full-time, field-based working lead responsible for high-quality, on-time retail merchandising execution across an assigned market of stores. The AEM personally performs merchandising, reset, installation, and break-fix work and leads the in-store team of merchandising associates assigned to market projects, training associates, modeling standards, directing in-store work, and inspecting completed work for quality, completeness, and safety. The AEM partners with the District Manager, who owns scheduling, staffing, and personnel decisions for the market. Regular travel throughout the assigned market, and when business needs require travel to neighboring markets, is a requirement of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee in-store merchandising activities including resets, new-item cut-ins, planogram compliance, displays, fixture assembly and installation, signage, and inventory.
  • Direct the in-store team on assigned projects by communicating project instructions, sequencing tasks, and inspecting completed work against company and client standards.
  • Serve as the company's in-market point of contact and build strong working relationships with store management and client representatives.
  • Complete accurate, on-time project reporting, including visit completion, photos, and data, through company mobile apps and systems, and verify team project reporting accuracy.
  • Plan efficient daily travel between assigned stores to meet project timelines.
  • Enforce safety standards on site by verifying proper and safe use of tools and equipment and stopping unsafe conditions or behavior.
  • Escalate coverage gaps, staffing needs, and client or store issues to the District Manager promptly.
  • Lead the in-store team of merchandising associates in the quality and on-time completion of team-based projects.
  • Train, coach, and demonstrate standards for merchandising, installation, break fix, safety, dress code, and retailer requirements.
  • Provide input to the District Manager on associate performance, development, and conduct, and participate in interviews and onboarding of new associates as requested.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of retail merchandising, fixture installation, electronic displays, resets, or comparable field experience.
  • Experience leading, training, or directing the work of field associates.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute planograms and project instructions.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable personal transportation, and auto insurance meeting company policy requirements.
  • Proficiency with a smartphone, tablet, or iPad for reporting and photo capture.
  • Certified, or willing to become certified within 30 days of hire, to safely operate forklifts and aerial/scissor lifts in accordance with applicable OSHA requirements and client site authorization requirements, where required.
  • Resides within reasonable commuting distance of the assigned territory (generally within approximately 30 miles of the majority of assigned stores).
  • Able and willing to travel by personal vehicle throughout the assigned market and, when business needs require, to neighboring markets, including occasional overnight or extended travel.
  • Familiarity with major retail environments, such as electronics, big-box, and grocery.
  • Availability to work a full-time schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends during peak resets.
  • Maintain a personal toolkit necessary to perform merchandising, fixture installation, break-fix, and reset work.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs; occasionally more with assistance.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Travel between multiple stores throughout the workday.
