About the Role
As an Insider, you will lead small group tours across Japan and host Insider Day/Evening products, creating unforgettable experiences for clients. This fast-paced and varied role requires strong Japanese language skills and cultural understanding to mediate between suppliers and clients. You will share unique insights into Japanese history, culture, heritage, traditions, and modern life.
Responsibilities
- Lead small group tours around Japan with an exceptional level of customer service
- Deliver ‘Insider Days’ (full-day, half-day and evening tours for clients on tailor-made holidays) with an exceptional level of customer service
- Work with VIP clients and on privately escorted holidays once confidence and skill are demonstrated
- Ensure clients’ health and safety through regular briefings and practical guidance, managing hazards and incidents appropriately
- Accommodate clients’ dietary requirements
- Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and partners
- Thoroughly prepare for tours
- Conduct cultural talks, explanations, and share insights and experiences proactively with clients in creative and fun ways
- Balance tour activities with led time and free time
Requirements
- Strong Japanese ability and understanding of cultural nuances
- Naturally charismatic and engaging personality
- Highly presentable, friendly, and approachable demeanor
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professionalism
- Comfortable accepting responsibility and making decisions in challenging environments
