About the Role
Boutique NYC Architectural and Interior Design Firm specializing in corporate / workplace interiors seeking senior level architect / designer to join our team. Candidates should have a professional degree in architecture from an accredited program and 10 years experience in commercial design, exhibit strong design and organizational skills, and be able to contribute to a fast-paced, creative office.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Lead / Project Manager for all phases (schematic design through construction administration) of small, medium, and large-scale corporate projects.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and design principals.
- Create design and presentation drawings.
- Produce construction detailing and drawings.
- Conduct construction observation and administration.
- Manage and oversee junior architects and designers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of workplace strategies.
- Apply knowledge of IBC Building Codes and ADA.
- Prepare and review construction documents.
- Lead and manage junior architects.
- Perform space planning and test fitting.
- Coordinate the permit process.
- Manage construction administration, including meetings with contractors, clients, and consultants.
- File and track all incoming documentation from other consultants.
Requirements
- Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program.
- 10 years of experience in commercial design.
- Strong design and organizational skills.
- Ability to contribute to a fast-paced, creative office.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
- 10 + years of experience in commercial architecture.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the design process, products, materials, and construction details.
- Knowledge of project constructability, project costs, and building code requirements.
- Ability to travel outside of the New York area on a regular basis.
