About the Role
The DNA Learning Center (DNALC) seeks full-time educators to join a world-renowned team creating innovative genetics education methods. This role involves instructing students in genomics, bioinformatics, and data science, contributing to a mission that has already reached over 700,000 students.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on instruction to precollege students during field trips, summer camps, and research projects.
- Travel to deliver programs at regional schools and other DNALC locations.
- Teach week-long educator workshops, both domestically and internationally.
- Develop and improve teaching modules, including new experiments for middle and high school students.
- Assist with laboratory preparation and testing.
- Work flexible hours, including some weekends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science (biology, molecular biology, or genetics preferred).
- Strong science background with an interest and/or experience in teaching.
- NYS teaching certification is a plus, but not required.
- Postdoctoral scientists with experience in personal genomics, DNA barcoding, metabarcoding, or bioinformatics are encouraged to apply.
