About the Role
The In Room Dining team at Fairmont San Francisco is seeking a dedicated individual to provide exceptional service to guests. This role involves mastering all aspects of in-room dining service, from order taking to delivery, while ensuring guest satisfaction and adhering to hotel standards.
Responsibilities
- Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service.
- Execute all roles of In Room Dining (busperson, server, order taker) as needed.
- Assist guests with menu inquiries in an informative and helpful manner.
- Possess full knowledge of all beverage lists.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately.
- Efficiently pick up orders from the kitchen.
- Verify outgoing orders for quality and accuracy.
- Have complete knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods.
- Adhere to outlet policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
- Assist the F&B Manager with special projects using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous Food & Beverage service experience preferred.
- Previous experience with Silverware, Opera, or similar Point of Sale Programs preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly responsible and reliable.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Constant standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling.
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
