About the Role

Security personnel are responsible for monitoring the fire control panel, water meter levels in waste treatment holding tanks, and ensuring emergency situations are handled in an organized and efficient manner. This role also involves monitoring surveillance cameras, parking lots, facility maintenance buildings, and other company property, as well as managing the locking and unlocking of doors and tracking company property on delivery tickets. The position requires monitoring severe weather conditions and initiating action if necessary, becoming familiar with the emergency procedure manual, and maintaining the confidentiality of security-related information.

Responsibilities

Patrol the premises (interior and exterior of the facility) to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors and windows.
Respond to and investigate alarms, disturbances/incidents, and unusual occurrences.
Monitor and authorize entrance and exit of employees, visitors, and vendors.
Complete daily activity reports of non-routine activities.
Complete reports for incidents and discrepancies such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of authorized/unauthorized persons, and safety hazards, unsafe behavior, or unusual occurrences.
Notify police/fire department/EMS in emergency situations.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled patrols through the facility and facility grounds to detect leaks, safety hazards, fire watch, intrusion, and ensure work areas, equipment, and restrooms are clean and orderly.
Monitor and review surveillance video for incidents, unusual occurrences, unauthorized personnel or entry, and video review from holidays and weekends.
Comply with Safety/Security monthly training requirements.
Monitor phones for emergency calls, receive and relay messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours.
Monitor weather conditions and report severe weather to any personnel or visitors in or around the facility.
Manage and secure keys, sign out keys, and lock/unlock doors for personnel.
Escort unauthorized personnel/trespassers off the property and/or detain if necessary.
Notify management of any events (intrusions, fire incidents or alarms, severe weather, or anything that needs to be communicated to management immediately during non-operational hours).

Requirements

The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs.
The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be approx. 8-10 hours).
Willing to work night shift, weekends, and holidays.
Able to keep security-related information confidential.
