About the Role

We are hiring a Retail Operations Manager to own the operational execution for our retail business, ensuring that what we promise to buyers is precisely what we ship. This role acts as a crucial link between our Retail and Operations teams, providing essential visibility and proactivity as we scale.

Responsibilities

  • Own the retail PO process from intake through EDI, 3PL release, ASN, and delivery.
  • Track open and in-transit POs, confirming retailer OTIF and fill-rate targets.
  • Identify at-risk orders early and drive root-cause fixes for missed targets.
  • Manage the onboarding checklist for new retailers, including EDI, routing guides, labeling, and vendor portals.
  • Ensure Create remains compliant with retailer setup and evolving requirements.
  • Align SKU assortment and door counts by retailer with the Retail team.
  • Ensure item data consistency across retailer portals, ERP, and 3PLs.
  • Oversee retail shipments with the Distribution & Logistics lead.
  • Confirm inventory readiness before pickup and 3PL performance to SLAs.
  • Track freight costs before product shipment.
  • Partner with Finance on chargeback and deduction nuances.
  • Identify root causes, lead disputes within retailer windows, and track recovery.
  • Monitor supply status, including weeks of supply, inbound shipments, lead times, and testing holds.
  • Collaborate with Retail to adjust plans proactively to mitigate potential issues.
  • Facilitate retailer × SKU forecasts, translating sales inputs for inventory planning.
  • Serve as the Sales team's point of contact for forecast inputs and hand off clean forecasts to Supply Planning.

Requirements

  • Deep experience running retail operations for a CPG brand across national retailers.
  • Fluency in the retail order-to-cash flow, including EDI, ASNs, routing guides, OTIF, and compliance.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues in POs, inventory, or freight before they impact buyers.
  • Comfort translating sales plans into actionable forecasts for inventory planners.
  • Skill in managing chargebacks and deductions and pursuing recovery.
  • Clear, proactive communication with Sales, Operations, Finance, and 3PL partners.
  • Proven track record of thriving in a fast-paced, process-building environment.
  • 5-8 years in sales operations, retail operations, or retail fulfillment, ideally at a CPG brand.
  • Hands-on experience with national retailers (e.g., Target, Walmart, Kroger, Costco, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, Sprouts), including their vendor portals and compliance programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of EDI (850, 855, 856, 810), ASNs, routing guides, and retailer labeling requirements.
  • Experience managing 3PL partners and holding them to SLAs.
  • Track record of improving OTIF and fill rate and recovering chargebacks and deductions.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • ERP experience (NetSuite, Fulfil, or similar).
  • Experience with Stord, SPS Commerce, or retailer platforms like Walmart Retail Link or Target Partners Online is a plus.
  • Genuine passion for health, wellness, and performance categories is a plus.
