About the Role
This role is designed for individuals to learn, understand, and undertake the responsibilities of a General Manager while supporting the current General Manager in protecting and enhancing the value of the company’s real estate assets. The Management Trainee will assist in identifying center objectives and learning to translate them into operational, marketing, leasing, and profit-enhancing strategies. Upon successful completion of the training program, the incumbent is expected to relocate to an assigned, open position.
Responsibilities
- Maximize EBITDA by increasing income sources and controlling expenses.
- Analyze financial reports, leases, and other information to implement strategies for achieving property EBITDA targets.
- Assist with the development and implementation of an Asset Improvement Plan and Property Operating Budget.
- Learn and participate in all aspects of permanent leasing, from canvassing to lease execution.
- Optimize short-term leasing performance while maintaining high standards.
- Understand and support the development and implementation of the property’s public safety and security strategy.
- Understand marketing and media initiatives to drive revenue and retail sales.
- Work with the team to create a best-in-class shopping experience by establishing and maintaining operating standards.
- Assist in the development and execution of the 5-year capital plan.
- Develop skills to retain and motivate team members.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with tenants, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Understand and demonstrate qualities of an effective leader.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related discipline from a 4-year college or university.
- Demonstrate sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable in public speaking situations.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
- Strong time management skills.
