About the Role
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking experienced Senior Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Buffalo, NY. In this role, you’ll help deliver the infrastructure that keeps communities moving by supporting transportation, bridge, utility, and municipal construction projects. You will partner closely with clients, contractors, and local agencies to solve challenges, uphold quality and safety standards, and bring public infrastructure improvements from plan to completion.
Responsibilities
- Perform construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects, including measuring and calculating quantities.
- Document work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.
- Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications.
- Apply project plans, company policies, guidelines, and standards to the work and make decisions.
- Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
- Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 5+ years of related construction engineering/inspection experience required.
- NICET II certification or higher, or a bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
- Valid US driver's license required.
- Expertise in federally aided, transportation projects as a Construction Inspector preferred.
- Experience working with/for clients like NYSDOT and/or municipal clients; technical knowledge of general and highway construction preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Team player.
- Comfortable with using computers and adapting to software.
- Strong mathematics skills.
- Appia and/or CEES experience.
- Familiarity with NYSDOT's Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK).
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and instructions.
