Own the design system and technical frameworks that other Adyen teams leverage to build customer experiences. Decide what gets built next across UI components and technical infrastructure, setting standards that ensure consistency without slowing down development.
Responsibilities
- Own the design system and technical frameworks Adyen leverages.
- Decide what gets built next across UI components and technical infrastructure.
- Treat engineers and designers as customers.
- Hold every component to a high bar for end customers.
- Define interface standards and build review/governance processes.
- Drive adoption of shared foundations without direct authority.
- Set clear metrics for adoption, speed, and experience quality.
- Partner closely with engineering and design within the team.
- Partner with product, design, and engineering leads across Adyen.
- Understand engineers, designers, merchants, and shoppers.
Requirements
- Experience building products for developers or teams.
- Understanding of clear contracts and careful change management.
- Strong eye for interface quality and end-customer details.
- Ability to hold components to a high bar and explain their importance.
- Demonstrated ability to drive adoption in a high-autonomy, bottom-up culture.
- Judgment on when standards accelerate teams versus hinder them.
- Ability to take open-ended problems, create clear plans, and ship with velocity.
- Ability to set clear metrics, use data for alignment, and measure impact.
- Desire to understand platform builders and end-users.
