About the Role
SANY’s Citizenship & Science Academy of Rochester is seeking an Academic Intervention Specialist for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role offers a supportive environment for both new and experienced teachers.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and instruction in Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies.
- Work closely with small groups of students to provide Tier 2 and 3 interventions.
- Actively participate in weekly meetings and attend all school-wide events.
- Share collected data with stakeholders, including classroom teachers and parents.
- Implement classroom policies and procedures.
- Lead students to and from specials and lunch.
- Effectively manage student behavior.
- Follow the Response to Intervention (RTI) process, including administering interventions and progress monitoring.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- New York State Certification Required.
- Experience with diverse populations of students or in an urban setting is a plus.
- Prior teaching experience preferred; novice teachers are encouraged to apply.
- Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education.
