About the Role

SS&C is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, client-facing technology solutions within the financial services sector. This role involves operating at the intersection of Solution Architecture, Business Analysis, Engineering, and Technology Operations, taking ownership of high-impact programs, often integration-heavy and API-driven, to ensure precise, clear, and valuable client delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client implementations and integration projects across SaaS and API-based platforms.
  • Translate complex SOWs and evolving client requirements into executable delivery plans.
  • Align cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready, supportable solutions.
  • Manage delivery across multiple stakeholders, systems, and dependencies in regulated environments.
  • Operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where clarity must be created.
  • Own the successful delivery of projects from initiation through to go-live and handover.
  • Ensure delivery is on time, within budget, and aligned to client expectations.
  • Establish and manage baselined plans, milestones, risks, and dependencies.
  • Drive proactive resolution of delivery challenges before they impact outcomes.
  • Lead multidisciplinary delivery teams, including Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Engineers & Support / Operations teams.
  • Ensure strong alignment across design, requirements, build, and operational readiness.
  • Create clarity, accountability, and momentum across all delivery contributors.
  • Oversee delivery across the full SDLC, including integration and API-led solutions.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering and production operations, including Release readiness, Deployment planning, Support model definition and handover.
  • Engage deeply enough to challenge assumptions and unblock technical delivery.
  • Manage and maintain accurate forecasting, effort estimation, and capacity planning, ensuring delivery aligns with demand and business targets.
  • Monitor portfolio health across multiple engagements, proactively identifying Resource constraints and Delivery risks.
  • Collaborate with PMs and delivery leads to optimise work allocation, rebalancing workloads to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Maintain accurate financial tracking and forecasting across projects.
  • Own and contribute to portfolio-level reporting, providing clear insight into performance, risks, and trends.
  • Support leadership with data-driven decision-making across delivery priorities and resource planning.
  • Act as the primary interface between client stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Build trusted relationships and manage expectations with clarity and confidence.
  • Engage effectively with senior stakeholders, including C-level, providing credible delivery updates.
  • Support pre-sales and SOW definition, ensuring realistic scope, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Run structured governance across projects, including Status, risk, dependency, and financial reporting.
  • Produce clear, concise executive and C-level reporting, translating delivery data into actionable insights.
  • Establish and maintain portfolio-level dashboards and reporting frameworks to provide transparency across engagements.
  • Apply and evolve project governance, delivery standards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Drive improvements in Delivery predictability, Resource efficiency, quality, and consistency.
  • Contribute to building a high-performing Professional Services delivery function.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Technical Project Manager / Program Manager in Professional Services or client delivery environments.
  • Experience working in startup or scale-up environments, with evidence of operating effectively in ambiguity, building structure where needed, taking full ownership of outcomes, and delivering under pressure without losing quality.
  • Clients view you as a trusted delivery partner, not just a project manager.
  • You actively improve how delivery works—not just execute within it.

Skills

  • Strong track record delivering integration-heavy, API-driven solutions.
  • Strong track record delivering cross-functional projects involving technical and operational teams.
  • Strong track record delivering complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong understanding of API and integration-led architectures.
  • Strong understanding of Technology operations (incident management, monitoring, support models).
  • Comfortable working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Ownership-driven – takes accountability end-to-end.
  • Technically credible – can engage meaningfully with engineers and architects.
  • Structured but pragmatic – balances governance with delivery pace.
  • Resilient and adaptable – thrives in fast-changing environments.
  • Independent and proactive – doesn’t wait for direction to solve problems.
  • Client-focused – driven by delivering real business value.
