About the Role

As our Talent Acquisition Manager in R&D, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing together the exceptional people who will turn ambitious scientific ideas into transformative technologies. This is more than recruitment; it’s about building relationships, challenging convention, and connecting extraordinary talent with a mission that matters.

Responsibilities

  • Drive intentional full-cycle hiring campaigns with a focus on deep AI/ML and computational skillsets to find exceptional, diverse, and values-driven talent.
  • Manage complex, multi-stage interview schedules across global time zones, ensuring a first-class candidate experience.
  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to hiring managers and scientific leaders, guiding hiring decisions and coaching on inclusive assessment techniques.
  • Assist in identifying and engaging visionary scientific leaders for Programme Director roles.
  • Partner with the Comms team to manage presence on platforms like LinkedIn and Glassdoor, and assist at events to build a community around the mission.
  • Represent ARIA at scientific conferences, academic symposiums, and tech industry events to cultivate long-term relationships and build a pipeline of passive candidates.

Requirements

  • Proven in-house recruitment experience from a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment, specifically hiring for niche technical, scientific, or deep-tech roles.
  • Strong track record of actively sourcing for hard-to-fill positions and building scalable sourcing engines.
  • Agile and adaptable, thriving in environments where the right way isn't always written down.
  • Highly organised with experience in campaign-style recruiting processes requiring careful planning and coordination.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking full accountability for campaigns and proactively building solutions.
  • Systems thinker with a track record of using technology to eliminate friction.
  • Understanding of the UK talent landscape, R&D, and innovation.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on error-free communications, consistent branding, and seamless scheduling.
