About the Role
Join Our Team as a Long-Haul Trucking Claims Advisor! This 6-month secondment/contract position based in Ontario offers the chance to play a crucial role in ensuring prompt and fair settlements for physical damage and cargo claims across Canada and the US.
Responsibilities
- Dive into both routine and complex claims, analyzing insurance policies to determine coverage and assess fair entitlements.
- Engage in timely and respectful communication with customers, brokers, claimants, lawyers, and other insurers to effectively resolve claims.
- Spearhead investigations and settlements of cargo and environmental losses, while managing cases that span across Canada and the US.
- Collaborate with our Bodily Injury team on significant losses to mitigate exposure and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience adjusting commercial auto claims; Long Haul Trucking experience is a plus.
- Expertise in handling moderate to complex claims and practicing effective negotiation.
- Strong analytical skills paired with decision-making prowess and excellent time management.
Skills
- CIP designation is considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of provincial legislation governing auto insurance; Atlantic Provincial Licenses is considered a strong asset.
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
