About the Role
Core Infrastructure’s mission is to build a secure, patched, cost-efficient cloud foundation, provisioned entirely as code. The team owns the cloud, network, identity, and infrastructure delivery that every product team at Capital on Tap runs on. This year, the team is consolidating access and secrets management, modernizing the edge, moving to GitHub, and exploring a multi-cloud future. They are also building the infrastructure behind AI at Capital on Tap, connecting engineers and products to models from Anthropic and OpenAI securely and at scale.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Azure foundations using Terraform, including reusable infrastructure modules and a standard Kubernetes baseline.
- Manage network and edge infrastructure, including Cloudflare, Istio, and Cato.
- Administer cloud identity and access, including RBAC, managed identities, and service-to-service authentication.
- Consolidate secret and certificate management into a single, automated pattern.
- Automate infrastructure and core container patching for a reliable cadence.
- Build and maintain infrastructure CI/CD pipelines, templates, and build agents.
- Develop and operate AI infrastructure, including model access through Microsoft Foundry, Anthropic, and OpenAI.
- Support the AI and MCP gateway layer, managing access, routing, and authentication for AI tools and agents.
- Apply security, identity, and observability standards to AI services consistent with the cloud platform.
- Oversee infrastructure monitoring with Grafana, Prometheus, and Log Analytics.
- Contribute to cloud cost management, disaster recovery, and multi-cloud strategies.
- Collaborate with Database Engineering, SRE, and Developer Enablement on shared infrastructure projects.
- Create clear documentation and maintain infrastructure standards.
Requirements
- Experience managing public cloud environments, ideally Azure.
- Strong experience writing infrastructure as code with Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Good networking knowledge, including DNS, load balancing, TLS, and CDNs or WAFs such as Cloudflare.
- Experience with cloud identity and access management, RBAC, and secrets management.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar).
- Proficiency in a scripting language such as Go, Rust, PowerShell, or Python.
- Embrace AI as part of work, moving faster, automating repetitive tasks, and focusing on important problems with sound judgment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work across teams.
