About the Role

The Thomson Reuters Foundation seeks an entrepreneurial Enterprise Lead to build and lead its enterprise capability, transforming organizational assets and market insight into scalable and financially sustainable offers. This role involves owning the end-to-end product and enterprise strategy, from customer discovery to roadmap management, and identifying opportunities to strengthen impact investment readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Set and deliver a coherent enterprise strategy that translates the Foundation’s mission, expertise, networks, data and intellectual assets into market-relevant products, services and partnership opportunities.
  • Systematically assess activities across the organisation to identify enterprise potential, prioritising opportunities according to mission alignment, customer need, impact, feasibility, scalability and financial return.
  • Lead research, testing and engagement with prospective customers, partners and beneficiaries to validate problems, demand, routes to market and willingness to pay.
  • Shape clear value propositions and design products and services that combine customer value, measurable social impact, operational feasibility and a high-quality user experience.
  • Develop and test pricing, revenue and partnership models, supported by robust cost assumptions, margin analysis and business cases.
  • Own and maintain a prioritised portfolio and product roadmap, setting clear decision points and coordinating development, investment, launch and iteration across functions.
  • Design pilots with clear hypotheses, success measures and learning goals; analyse product, customer, impact and financial performance; and recommend whether to adapt, scale, pause or stop.
  • Meet income and contribution targets, manage budgets and P&L performance, monitor risk and performance, and provide clear forecasts and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Manage the Global Sales Executive and Senior Marketing Specialist, aligning product strategy, demand generation, thought leadership, customer communications, pipeline development and account growth.
  • Lead and grow TRF’s established training portfolio, strengthening existing offers and taking new training products to market across new regions.
  • Lead initiatives to assess and strengthen the readiness of relevant products, services or ventures for impact investment, including proposition development, business planning, evidence of demand, impact measurement, governance and investor engagement.
  • Build effective relationships across complex and matrixed structures, convening programme, product, finance, legal, communications, technology and subject-matter colleagues to move opportunities from concept to delivery.
  • Ensure enterprise activity is ethical, mission-aligned and compliant with relevant policies, charitable requirements and the Reuters Trust Principles.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in a social enterprise, non-governmental organisation, impact-led business, social investment organisation or similarly mission-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated experience taking products, services or ventures from insight and customer discovery through validation, piloting, launch and iteration.
  • Experience managing a P&L, budgets, pricing, business cases and performance, with the commercial judgement to balance income, margin, impact and risk.
  • A highly entrepreneurial, opportunity-focused approach, with the ability to work through ambiguity, test assumptions, make evidence-based decisions and build momentum with limited resources.
  • Strong capability in customer discovery, market validation, segmentation, proposition development and the interpretation of customer and performance data.
  • Experience setting direction, managing specialists and creating alignment across sales, marketing, product and delivery activity.
  • A proven ability to influence and deliver across complex, matrixed and international structures without relying solely on formal authority.
  • The ability to explain complex ideas clearly, secure senior-level support and build trusted relationships with customers, partners, investors and internal stakeholders.
  • Sound judgement and a clear commitment to responsible enterprise, social impact and the Foundation’s mission and Reuters Trust Principles.
