About the Role
As a Designer Outerwear, you are responsible for the entire outerwear category, including technical ski jackets, coats, and mid-season jackets. You oversee the category from start to finish, defining the range structure, translating seasonal concepts into a strong commercial offering, and managing the process from initial sketch and fabric selection to fit approval. You collaborate closely with Product Development, the technical team, Sales, and suppliers, balancing design, functionality, and commercial value. You stay current with trends in fashion, materials, and performance innovation to create collections that are unmistakably Goldbergh.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire outerwear category from start to finish.
- Define the range structure.
- Translate seasonal concepts into a strong commercial offering.
- Manage the process from initial sketch and fabric selection to fit approval.
- Collaborate closely with Product Development, the technical team, Sales, and suppliers.
- Balance design, functionality, and commercial value.
- Stay current with trends in fashion, materials, and performance innovation.
- Incorporate trends into collections that are unmistakably Goldbergh.
- Create designs that are recognizable as Goldbergh brand pieces.
- Prepare tech packs and guide factories from proto and fitting to SMS.
Requirements
- Experience in independently managing and monitoring a complete product category, including range planning and aligning choices with Sales and Product Development.
- 5 years of work experience as an outerwear designer, preferably in skiwear or performance outerwear in the premium or luxury segment.
- Solid knowledge of technical fabrics, membranes, insulation, trims, and construction details such as tapes, baffles, and closures.
- Experience in creating tech packs and guiding factories from proto and fitting to SMS.
- A keen eye for silhouette, fit, and detail, with a sense for the female body in motion.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; experience with 3D design is a plus.
- Commercial insight: understanding what sells and why.
- Structured, proactive, and a true team player.
- Clear communication skills in Dutch and English.
