About the Role
Smile New York Outreach is seeking a Full-time Dental Assistant to provide dental care to underserved children at their school. Our innovative in-school dental program offers a work-life balance with a workday that ends with the school day and no nights or weekends.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental assisting services during mobile dental clinics.
- Conduct digital x-ray imaging.
- Manage patient records charting.
- Assist with equipment set-up, breakdown, and sterilization.
- Travel daily to and from school sites.
Requirements
- Dental Assistant Certification (preferred, but not required)
- CPR certification card
- Working experience as a Dental Assistant
- Working experience with Digital X-rays
- Experience with patient charting (paper forms, charting tooth surfaces)
- Valid ID
- Willingness to travel to schools within the boroughs
- Works well with children
- Team player and able to work on a small team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
