About the Role

The Senior Analyst, Finance Technology – Finance Data and Operations is responsible for the functional operation, administration, and continuous improvement of shared Finance platform and data capabilities. The role owns Client and Matter Management, Accounts Receivable and collections enablement, finance master data, organizational and people-data dependencies, data quality, reporting enablement, and shared application administration. The analyst partners with Finance, Accounts Receivable, Billing, New Business Intake, Risk, HR, Information Security, Data and Reporting, IT, and vendors to maintain trusted client and matter data and reliable receivables processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary IT functional analyst for Client and Matter Management, Accounts Receivable and collections enablement, finance master data and shared reference data.
  • Support Accounts Receivable capabilities including client and matter account structures, receivable balances, cash-application dependencies, adjustments, collections data, statements, aging, and related operational reporting.
  • Support client and matter structures, statuses, attributes, hierarchies, addresses, billing and collection contacts, organizational reference data, and other governed data used by Sierra and connected systems.
  • Analyze how client setup, matter setup, billing arrangements, payer details, credit and collection attributes, and account changes affect Accounts Receivable and downstream reporting.
  • Partner with Accounts Receivable, Collections, Billing, New Business Intake, and Finance stakeholders to resolve data and process issues affecting receivables, cash application, aging, statements, and collection activity.
  • Coordinate functional administration and data-quality activities across Sierra, MDS, Workday interfaces, Intapp, Fabric, Entra ID, and other approved enterprise platforms.
  • Investigate cross-system data discrepancies, failed synchronizations, duplicate or incomplete records, access dependencies, and reporting-data issues; coordinate correction and prevention with data owners and technical teams.
  • Own assigned Client, Matter, Accounts Receivable, people, security, document, and reporting integrations from a functional perspective, including requirements, mapping validation, reconciliation, exception review, testing, and sign-off.
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements, data rules, process designs, configuration specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead or support system integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, defect triage, production validation, release planning, cutover, deployment, and stabilization.
  • Maintain functional specifications, configuration records, data definitions, mappings, support procedures, test evidence, release notes, and knowledge articles.
  • Partner with Risk, HR, Security, Records, Finance, Data and Reporting, and Global IT to define ownership, controls, validation rules, and sustainable data-maintenance processes.
  • Monitor recurring defects, data-quality trends, platform issues, and manual workarounds; recommend improvements that strengthen receivables operations, data integrity, and platform reliability.
  • Coordinate vendor and managed-service-provider escalations and validate vendor-delivered fixes.
  • Provide secondary support across the Finance technology portfolio as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Five or more years of functional analysis, business-systems analysis, product analysis, application support, master-data, or financial-platform experience.
  • Experience supporting an ERP, financial management system, Client and Matter platform, or comparable enterprise application; Aderant Sierra experience is strongly preferred.
  • Functional understanding of Accounts Receivable, collections, cash application, aging, statements, adjustments, client accounts, and matter-level financial data.
  • Experience with Client and Matter Management, master data, data governance, reference data or reporting enablement.
  • Experience gathering requirements, defining data rules, documenting processes, writing test scenarios, managing defects, and supporting releases.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise integrations, mappings, scheduled jobs, interface monitoring, reconciliation, and exception handling; hands-on development is not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess cross-system and data impacts.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, planning, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to support critical processing and deployments outside regular business hours when required.
  • Experience supporting Aderant Sierra in a professional-services or legal-services environment.
  • Experience with Intapp Open, MDS, Microsoft Fabric, Workday interfaces, Entra ID, InterAction, or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Knowledge of legal-services Client and Matter lifecycles, billing relationships, payer structures, collections attributes, and receivables reporting.
