About the Role

AutoSync is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the full-stack engineering team for its Activix (CRM) Platform. This role involves guiding engineers, managing delivery, and ensuring the development of reliable software that solves customer problems, combining people leadership with technical credibility and strong delivery management.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership and get things done, turning ambiguous goals into practical next steps, agreeing on clear ownership, and actively resolving blockers.
  • Track actions through to completion and escalate risks early with options and recommendations.
  • Lead and develop people by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and supporting career development.
  • Hire and onboard thoughtfully, address performance concerns early and fairly, and build an inclusive team.
  • Plan and manage delivery in partnership with Product, UX, Data, and adjacent teams.
  • Apply Scrum Master and project management skills to facilitate ceremonies, assess capacity, plan milestones, track progress, manage dependencies and risks, and report status.
  • Agree on changes to scope or timing early and review customer outcomes and production performance after release.
  • Build sustainable ways of working by matching work in progress to capacity, complexity, and production duties.
  • Use retrospectives to address recurring delivery problems and protect time for technical improvement, mentoring, and learning.
  • Provide credible technical leadership by understanding application architecture, code, integrations, and infrastructure.
  • Participate in design and code reviews, investigate difficult issues, and provide hands-on support.
  • Balance delivery speed with maintainability, performance, and security.
  • Solve problems with curiosity and creativity by investigating technical and delivery problems, testing assumptions, and exploring alternatives.
  • Own engineering and operational health by establishing clear service ownership and standards for testing, observability, accessibility, security, privacy, and release readiness.
  • Define service-level objectives, support incident response, and translate lessons into prioritized improvements.
  • Lead practical AI adoption by helping engineers use AI tools and agents across the development lifecycle.
  • Establish clear context, constraints, and acceptance criteria for AI adoption, defining appropriate levels of automation and human review.
  • Require validation, independent engineering review, and accountable human decisions on merges and releases.
  • Improve team effectiveness by using customer outcomes, delivery flow, software quality, reliability, and team health to guide improvements.
  • Evaluate AI workflows by their effects on quality, rework, and sustainable delivery.
  • Share reusable guidance and support people as tools and responsibilities change.

Requirements

  • At least five years of engineering leadership experience, with evidence of developing people, building effective teams, and delivering software products.
  • Experience with hiring, coaching, career development, and constructive performance management.
  • Demonstrated ownership and follow-through in moving difficult work forward, resolving blockers, making decisions, coordinating others, and completing actions.
  • Ability to raise concerns early with practical options and proposed solutions, take responsibility for commitments, and communicate clearly when plans must change.
  • Strong software engineering background and experience building and operating scalable, public-facing web applications.
  • Ability to explain architecture and code-level trade-offs, guide engineers, contribute to design and code reviews, and troubleshoot across applications, integrations, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Practical experience combining Scrum Master responsibilities with project management skills: planning, capacity assessment, milestone tracking, dependency and risk management, delivery reporting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to show how teams have been brought back on track when plans changed and how engineering work connects to customer outcomes.
  • Examples of investigating unfamiliar problems, considering creative alternatives, and recommending a workable path, explaining options considered, trade-offs made, and outcomes.
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering workflows and helping others adopt them effectively.
  • Ability to explain how AI output is evaluated, risks are managed, and whether a workflow improves delivery and quality.
  • Clear communication, empathetic coaching, and the ability to build trust, handle difficult conversations, and create accountability across different perspectives and working styles.
