About the Role

Wolt is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Front-end-leaning) to join the Operations Foundations team. This team is responsible for the foundation that hundreds of engineers across Wolt, DoorDash, and Deliveroo rely on to build internal operations tools. The platform hosts over 250 micro-frontends (MFEs) used to operate every part of the business. The team focuses on building a scalable, reliable, and high-quality internal tooling platform, improving how engineers build, test, and ship software, and enabling AI agents to make changes safely and reliably.

Responsibilities

Owning the Foundation: the runtime, build, deployment, and developer experience that 250+ MFEs and hundreds of engineers depend on.
Evolving Our Micro-Frontend Architecture: improve composition, isolation, and shared dependency strategies.
Product and Planning: Independently drive projects from idea to production, breaking down ambiguous problems into clear technical plans, estimating delivery, identifying risks, and delivering high-quality solutions.
Supporting Engineering Excellence: Champion best practices, raise the bar for code quality, and turn lessons learned into platform improvements.
Long-Term Thinking: Balance short-term feature unblockers with the long-term health, security, and maintainability of the platform.
Agentic Development: Build the foundations that let AI agents work autonomously on our platform, including agent instructions, reusable skills, tool integrations, guardrails, and automated checks.
AI Fluency: Work agent-first in your own day-to-day: delegate implementation to agents, and focus judgment on direction, architecture, and verifying outcomes.

Requirements

Proven expertise in building production frontend applications using TypeScript and React.
Solid backend knowledge, comfortable owning and operating Node.js services that support frontend infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of frontend build tools, bundlers, and module systems, and the ability to evolve them as the platform grows.
Track record of diagnosing and resolving complex performance, reliability, or DX issues in large frontend codebases.
Experience driving technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams and stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management skills: aligning priorities, managing expectations, and communicating trade-offs clearly with partner teams and leadership.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, platform-mindset approach to working with feature teams.
Strong documentation skills, including experience writing RFCs or ADRs.
Experience with micro-frontend architecture.
Frontend platform engineering experience.
Experience building shared component libraries used by many product teams.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and cloud infrastructure for frontend workloads.
Experience or interest in observability and reliability (SRE).
Experience building tooling or workflows for autonomous AI coding agents (e.g., agent instructions, skills, MCP servers, or evaluating agent-generated code).
