About the Role

Develop modern AI solutions for clients, focusing on Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and agent-based applications. Combine technical architecture understanding with practical software development, primarily on AWS and Azure.

Responsibilities

Develop modern AI solutions for clients, from initial requirements to cloud architecture and production deployment.
Analyze requirements, identify AI use cases, and translate them into technical solution concepts.
Evaluate feasibility, select appropriate technologies, and develop scalable, secure, and economical cloud architectures.
Develop AI applications using Foundation Models and cloud services like Amazon Bedrock.
Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, and Tool Calling.
Integrate AI functionalities into existing enterprise systems via APIs and interfaces.
Ensure secure and reliable data provisioning.
Collaborate with Data Engineering specialists for complex data requirements.
Translate architecture concepts into code using Python, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
Develop automated, reproducible, and maintainable solutions.
Consider Security, Performance, Monitoring, Scalability, and Cost requirements from the outset.
Take technical responsibility for smaller projects or sub-projects.
Accompany AI solutions from conception to production.
Make sound architectural and technology decisions.
Challenge existing approaches and support less experienced team members.
Maintain intensive communication with business departments and architects for project coordination.
Communicate transparently with clients about architectural decisions and manage expectations.
Ensure technical excellence and project success through communication with the project team.
Share knowledge on AI architectures, cloud patterns, and best practices within the Woodmark team.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of practical experience in software development or cloud engineering.
Experience in conceptualizing and implementing AI applications in client projects.
Understanding of the interplay between applications, data, cloud infrastructure, and AI services.
Ability to independently develop technical solutions.
Very good knowledge of Python and experience in developing professional software applications.
Sound practical experience with AWS and designing/implementing cloud architectures.
Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models, and integrating Foundation Models into applications (ideally with Amazon Bedrock).
Knowledge of modern AI architectures and technologies such as RAG, vector databases, AI Agents, and Tool Calling.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation).
Good knowledge of modern software engineering and DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD, automated testing, deployment).
Experience with developing and integrating APIs and connecting various data sources and enterprise systems.
Understanding of Security, IAM, Monitoring, Performance, Scalability, and Cost Optimization in cloud environments.
Ideally, additional experience with Azure, container technologies, or AI frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or similar.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical architectures.
Ability to implement technical architectures hands-on.
Focus on holistic solutions and understanding technical dependencies.
Commitment to maintainable, secure, and production-ready software.
Active interest in Generative AI and Agentic AI developments.
Ability to evaluate which approaches provide added value in real client projects.
Willingness to collaborate with clients, business departments, and technical stakeholders.
Ability to structure requirement gathering, consider different perspectives, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
Actively support other Woodmark employees in building AI and Cloud competencies.
Share experiences and knowledge within the team.
Fluent German and English language skills.
