About the Role
You'll own a product area end to end, understanding user needs, leveraging AI models, and building solutions from frontend to backend, including GPU deployment. You will be responsible for measuring success and continuous improvement, with real ownership over product decisions, reliability, cost, and scale for millions of users.
Responsibilities
- Own a product area end to end, similar to a founder.
- Understand user needs for a given product.
- Leverage the latest AI model capabilities.
- Build frontend and backend systems.
- Manage deployment on GPUs.
- Measure product performance and iterate.
- Decide what to build and how to build it.
- Be on call for shipped products.
- Read user feedback.
- Be accountable for reliability, cost, and scale.
- Own problems such as long-term memory for AI characters, the 'For You' feed, frontier model integration, and real-time AI experiences.
- Evaluate quality and performance of new models.
- Understand the cost of serving models at scale.
- Integrate the best models into user products quickly.
- Determine how chat, voice, image, and video integrate.
- Make quality, latency, and cost trade-offs for real-time experiences.
Requirements
- Have built something impressive: a technically complex product at real scale, or a hard problem explored in depth.
- Ability to clearly explain what was built and why it was challenging.
- Demonstrate product judgment: talk to users, form opinions on valuable features, and support them with evidence.
- Experience owning a customer-facing product.
- Demonstrate end-to-end ownership: turn ambiguous problems into shipped products and own post-launch outcomes.
- Exhibit rigor and pragmatism: ask critical questions about users, impact, and cost; run experiments and verify results.
- Know when to build robust solutions and when a simpler approach is sufficient.
- Communicate thinking clearly, succinctly, and with data.
