About the Role
We are seeking a Server to join our team, responsible for setting up the dining room, serving meals, and assisting with cleanup in our retirement residence. This role is integral to creating memorable dining experiences for our residents and guests.
Responsibilities
- Serve meals to residents and guests professionally and courteously.
- Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as needed.
- Assist with cleaning dishware and cutlery after each dining service.
- Help maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area.
- Support catering and participate in special occasions and theme events.
- Assist in orienting and training new culinary employees.
- Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and safe job procedures.
- Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.
- Be aware of and promote Resident Rights & Responsibilities.
- Attend in-service training as required.
- Attend staff meetings to stay informed of residence changes.
- Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
- Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy, particularly regarding ethics, morality, and integrity as outlined in the Company’s Code of Conduct.
- Complete all other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred.
- Previous experience working with seniors is preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items.
- Must be able to stand/walk for the majority of the shift.
- Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS).
