About the Role
Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our State Department of Transportation Client Center. This role involves providing project management services, developing and managing projects, leading reviews, and executing administrative tasks to achieve positive business impact and a great employee experience. The Project Manager will also establish and build positive client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Work with office leadership to execute proper PM procedures.
- Develop contracts, including subcontracts, to comply with Barge terms.
- Prepare comprehensive Project Management Plans.
- Lead and facilitate a collaborative work environment and advance initiatives that support a positive workplace culture.
- Ensure Quality Program implementation and execution.
- Review project reports and findings, making modifications as needed.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve project problems.
- Act as the primary liaison between the client and the project team, coordinating events, leading client and internal project meetings, and overseeing project delivery.
- Function as a technical lead on projects on occasion.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, customers, officials, and contractors.
- Attend various leadership meetings.
- Support and implement strategic and business planning activities.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
- PE candidates are highly preferred.
- PMP candidates without a PE but with the same technical skills will also be considered.
- 6 years of related experience in design/project management.
- Experience working with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
- Strong design and technical credibility.
- Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and deadlines.
- Strong teambuilding skills.
- Able to collaborate with other design disciplines.
