About the Role
Samsung is seeking a Senior Privacy Manager – Consent & Transparency to join its European Service Business (ESBO) data privacy and compliance function for EMEA. This role is integral to supporting Samsung's advertising business, Samsung Ads, by managing privacy risks and ensuring consumer data is handled fairly and in compliance with data protection legislation. You will lead the privacy aspects of a new ESBO consent and transparency framework and support general privacy matters.
Responsibilities
- Lead the privacy and compliance workstream for a device-level TCF CMP, including consent design, purposes, vendor scope, legal QA, and sign-off gates.
- Own ongoing TCF and regulatory compliance for the CMP, including registration, validation, Global Vendor List management, vendor onboarding/removal, and monitoring of TCF policy changes.
- Own existing consent mechanisms and transparency products, such as privacy notices, disclosures, and user preference controls, ensuring accuracy as products and data flows evolve.
- Conduct and document data protection impact assessments and legitimate interest assessments for consent-dependent initiatives.
- Maintain a market-by-market view of consent and device-storage requirements across EMEA, tracking regulatory guidance and translating changes into product requirements.
- Partner with Product & GTM to convert legal and regulatory requirements into clear product specifications, acceptance criteria, and release sign-off.
- Assist in onboarding new clients, service providers, AdTech vendors, and data partners in a privacy-compliant manner.
- Assist in the creation, implementation, and management of business mandates and privacy processes to ensure compliance.
- Design, develop, and assist with delivering business-specific training on consent, transparency, and TCF.
- Support the wider privacy program on ad hoc matters, including business requests, new product reviews, and data subject rights requests.
- Streamline privacy workflows, leveraging automation and AI tools where applicable.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of GDPR, ePrivacy/PECR, and other EMEA privacy laws, with specific focus on consent, transparency, and device-level tracking rules.
- Working knowledge of the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF v2.2), including purposes, legal bases, TC String, Global Vendor List, and CMP validation.
- Hands-on experience with consent management platforms (implementation, configuration, operation, or advising).
- Working understanding of how consent signals are captured, stored, and passed downstream.
- Proven track record of managing data protection compliance and implementing privacy-by-design principles across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience with data protection impact assessments and legitimate interest assessments.
- Ability to work credibly with product and engineering teams, translating legal requirements into buildable specifications.
- Ability to quickly and accurately assess practical and business risks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
